Aiyedatiwa Inaugurates New Advisers Law Commission, Charges Appointees On Diligence, Results

In a significant step to strengthen his administration, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa on Tuesday inaugurated newly appointed and reappointed Special Advisers, as well as the Chairman and members of the Ondo State Law Commission.

The ceremony, held at the Cocoa Conference Centre in Akure, was framed as a key milestone in implementing the government’s “OUR EASE” policy thrust.

In his address, Aiyedatiwa described the event as a “solemn affirmation” of his administration’s commitment to people-centered leadership and efficient governance. He emphasized that governance is not about preserving power, but about selflessly deploying authority to advance human dignity.

“The appointments being formalized today are the product of careful consideration, rigorous and merit-based evaluation,” the Governor stated. He explained that the team is a blend of returning professionals, recognized for their outstanding performance, and new entrants expected to bring fresh ideas and vigor to the government.

The newly sworn-in Special Advisers include: Hon. Olugbenga Omole (Transport), Comrade Gani Mohammed (Special Duties and Strategy), Allen Sowore (Communication and Strategy), Dr. Summy Smart Francis (Entrepreneurship & Innovation), Dr. Tunji Rhema (Environment), Mrs. Kikelomo Ikuomola (Public Affairs & Intergovernmental Relations), Engr. Wale Aladenusi (Marine & Blue Economy), Hon. Kolawole Babatunde (Legislative and Party Affairs), and Hon. Igbekele Akinrinwa (Local Government Affairs).

Aiyedatiwa charged the appointees to approach their roles with humility and diligence, noting that their positions are not merely titles but opportunities to shape policies and ensure effective program implementation.

He also highlighted the critical role of the newly appointed Director-General of the Performance and Projects Implementation Monitoring Unit (PPIMU), tasking the office with standardised project monitoring, fiscal responsibility, and efficient delivery of the “OUR EASE” agenda.

Concluding his address, Aiyedatiwa reminded all appointees that public office is a sacred duty, not a privilege for self-enrichment.
