The Ogoga of Ikere-Ekiti, HRM Oba Adu Adejimi Alagbado has emerged the 13th Chairman of the Ekiti State Council of Traditional Rulers.
This was disclosed by the Governor of Ektit State, Biodun Oyebanji, in a post on his facebook page, while congratulating the monarch.
Oyebanji said that the newly inaugurated council consists of 86 distinguished royal fathers, including 66 permanent and 20 rotational members drawn from communities across Ekiti.
He added ” For the next two years, this council will offer counsel on matters ranging from chieftaincy issues to customary law and development-related concerns.
The Governor said ” Oba Alagbado is a respected monarch whose wisdom, commitment to peace, and service to our state are well known. I am confident that he will provide purposeful leadership and enhance greater unity among our royal fathers as they continue to play their vital role in grassroots governance, cultural preservation, and communal harmony.
” The newly inaugurated council consists of 86 distinguished royal fathers, including 66 permanent and 20 rotational members drawn from communities across Ekiti. “I also used the opportunity to express my gratitude to the immediate past chairman, the Olojudo of Ido-Ekiti, Oba Ayorinde Ilori Faboro, for his exceptional leadership. I urged our traditional rulers to rally behind the new chairman in the spirit of unity, respect, and collective progress”.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting the traditional institution and ensuring their welfare, adding “I also formally informed our revered monarchs of my intention to seek a second term in office, so we can consolidate the gains of our shared efforts and continue to deliver development across the state”.
