Violence Erupts In Ijesha, Surulere As Anti-Riot Policemen Fire Gunshots, Tear Gas To Disperse Crowd 

 

Violence has erupted in the Ijesha area of Surulere as anti-riot policemen fired gunshots and tear gas to disperse a crowd of hoodlums in an attempt to make some arrests.

Vehicle owners abandoned their cars during the commotion for fear of stray bullets.

Socio-economic activities were equally paralyzed as traders, residents, and passersby ran for safety.

Recurring civil disturbances and violent clashes between security officials and hoodlums in Ijesha are common knowledge.
