Senate Reshuffles Committees, Appoints Ndume Chairman Committee on Tourism

 

Senator Ali Ndume has been appointed as the new chairman of the Senate Committee on Tourism. This comes shortly after his removal from the position of Senate Chief Whip and his vice chairmanship of the Appropriation Committee.

Senate President Godswill Akpabio announced the appointments as part of a minor reshuffle of Senate standing committees.

In the reshuffle, Senator Adeniyi Adegbonmire, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, has been named the new chairman of the Senate Committee on Judiciary, Human Rights, and Legal Matters, replacing Senator Mohammed Mongono. Mongono has been appointed as the new Chief Whip of the Senate and will also serve as the vice chairman of the Senate Committee on Appropriation.

Senator Ned Nwoko will chair the proposed Committee on Reparation and Repatriation.

Senator Abdul Ningi retains his position as chairman of the Senate Committee on Population Commission, while Senator Simon Lalong has been named chairman of the Senate Committee on Agricultural Institutions.
