Ekiti Police Busts Vehicle-Snatching Gang, Arrests 44, Recovers 558 Rustled Cattle

The Ekiti State Police Command has arrested 44 suspects in connection with various crimes, including armed robbery, cattle rustling, burglary, child exploitation, and theft.
During intelligence-driven operations across the state, the police also recovered 558 rustled cattle, stolen vehicles, and other items.
Commissioner of Police Joseph Eribo disclosed this on Tuesday while addressing journalists at the command’s headquarters in Ado-Ekiti.
Eribo said the arrests were part of sustained efforts to maintain peace and security in the state. He added that some of the suspects belonged to a notorious vehicle-snatching syndicate operating within Ado-Ekiti and neighbouring areas.
According to the commissioner, police operatives recovered seven stolen Toyota Corolla vehicles from the gang, along with 10 fabricated master keys and various vehicle number plates. Investigations revealed that the syndicate had produced about 29 master keys for their criminal operations.
