Lagos LG: I’m Not Desperate To Be Egbe-Idimu Council Chairman, Says Aspirant

 

One of the aspirants vying for Chairmanship of Egbe-Idimu Local Council Development Area in the forthcoming Lagos State Local Government election, Elder Comr. Femi Ikugbayigbe, has said he is not desperate to become Council Chairman.

Ikugbayigbe is aspiring under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

In an interaction with journalists at his residence in Idimu, on Saturday, Ikugbayigbe expressed strong confidence in the leadership of the Alimosho All Progressives Congress APC, affirming his commitment to abide by its decisions, whether in his favor or not.

“My brothers, I have been in this system for over 20 years. I know our leaders very well; they do not make wrong decisions. They always look inward, work as a team, and think deeply before arriving at conclusions, especially concerning political office holders.” ikugbayigbe remarked.

Ikugbayigbe assured that the best candidate would ultimately be chosen by the party leadership, asserting, “I firmly believe I possess all it takes to be considered for the Executive Chairmanship position.”

When discussing his vision for the residents of Egbe-Idimu LCDA, should he be elected, the seasoned Journalist, administrator and public affairs analyst highlighted his intention to build on the achievements of the current Chairman, Mr. Kunle Sanyaolu Olowoopejo.

He noted, “Olowoopejo’s accomplishments in health, welfare packages, road construction, and other infrastructural developments are commendable.”

Additionally, Ikugbayigbe pledged to prioritize key areas such as child education, youth empowerment and employment, support for the elderly, women empowerment, religious and cultural engagement, sports, and further infrastructural development.
