The Senator representing Lagos East Senatorial District and Chairman Senate Committee on Banking, Insurance and Other Financial Institutions, Sen. Tokunbo Abiru, has congratulated veteran journalist Tunde Rahman on his installation as the Baaroyin of Iwo Land.
Rahman, who serves as Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Media and Special Duties, was conferred with the revered title by His Imperial Majesty, Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi, as part of activities marking his 60th birthday.
In a congratulatory message, Abiru described the honour as well-deserved, noting that it reflects Rahman’s outstanding contributions to journalism, public communication, and service to both Iwo community and the nation at large.
He praised Rahman’s distinguished career, highlighting his professionalism, integrity, and intellectual depth, which he said have earned him widespread respect across the media and political space.
The senator further stated that the conferment of the Baaroyin title is not only a recognition of Rahman’s personal achievements but also a testament to his enduring commitment to community development and nation-building.
Abiru expressed confidence that Rahman would leverage his experience and wisdom to promote the cultural heritage and socio-economic advancement of Iwo Land and Osun State in general.
He also offered prayers for Rahman’s continued good health, wisdom, and strength to serve his community and the nation with even greater distinction.
