Obaje Hits 100th NPFL Goal As Rangers Beat Warri Wolves 1-0

Rangers International recorded a 1-0 away victory over Warri Wolves in one of the rescheduled Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) matches played on Wednesday.

The result delighted the Flying Antelopes’ supporters as it moved the defending champions to the top of the table.

However, the victory meant more than just three points for Rangers striker Godwin Obaje, who scored the solitary goal for the Enugu-based side in Ozoro, taking his tally for the club to 35 goals.

The goal also marked Obaje’s 100th in the NPFL, making him only the third player in the history of Nigeria’s top flight to reach the landmark.

The former Wikki Tourists, FC Ifeanyi Ubah, Plateau United and Abia Warriors forward now joins former Dolphins of Port Harcourt striker Victor Ezeji and veteran Kano Pillars star Rabiu Ali in the 100-goal club.

Obaje’s NPFL goals have come across several clubs, including 25 for Wikki Tourists, 16 for the defunct FC Ifeanyi Ubah, one for Plateau United and 23 for Abia Warriors.
