Shooting Stars Beat CS Sfaxien 1-0 To Mark Continental Return

Shooting Stars of Ibadan defeated CS Sfaxien of Tunisia 1-0 at the MKO Abiola Stadium, Abeokuta, on Saturday in the first leg of their CAF Confederation Cup tie.
The Oluyole Warriors marked their return to continental football after a 27-year absence with a commanding performance in front of an enthusiastic home crowd.
The atmosphere was electric as fans gathered to witness the team’s first major continental clash in nearly three decades.
The match began with both sides showing attacking intent, but Shooting Stars seized the initiative early and created several promising opportunities.
The decisive moment came in the 26th minute when Lucky Emmanuel pounced on a loose ball from close range and fired it into the net, sending the home supporters into wild celebrations.
CS Sfaxien pushed hard for an equaliser, particularly in the second half, but the resilient Shooting Stars defence held firm to preserve the narrow advantage.
The victory marked a significant milestone for the Oluyole Warriors, who made a triumphant return to the continental arena after nearly three decades.
The second leg will take place in Mahgreb, Tunisia, on Sunday, September 13.
