The Lagos State Government has announced traffic diversions ahead of the rehabilitation of Oke-Afa Bridge in Isolo Local Government Area, advising motorists to use alternative routes during the three-week construction period.
The rehabilitation, being undertaken by the Federal Ministry of Works through Messrs Strabic Construction Limited, will commence on Friday, August 28, 2026, and end on Friday, September 18, 2026.
The project will be executed in two phases. The first phase, scheduled for August 28 to September 11, will cover the outbound Isolo-to-Ejigbo section, while the second phase, from September 12 to 18, will focus on the inbound Ejigbo-to-Isolo section.
During the first phase, motorists travelling from Isolo towards Ejigbo will be diverted at Pako Roundabout onto the Isolo-bound carriageway. Traffic will move in both directions along the carriageway before rejoining the main route at Mobil Filling Station.
In the second phase, motorists travelling from Ejigbo towards Isolo will be diverted at Mobil Filling Station onto the Ejigbo-bound carriageway and will rejoin the main carriageway at Pako Roundabout.
The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) will deploy personnel to manage traffic and minimise delays, while an emergency tow vehicle will be stationed within the area to respond promptly to vehicle breakdowns.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, has urged motorists to remain patient and comply with traffic directions throughout the rehabilitation period, stressing that the temporary traffic diversion is necessary to facilitate the bridge works.
