AFCON 2027 Qualifier: Madagascar To Host Super Eagles In Morocco

Madagascar will host Nigeria’s Super Eagles in Morocco during the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying campaign.

The Football Federation of Madagascar has chosen Morocco as the venue for its home matches after stadiums in the country failed to secure approval from the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to host international fixtures.

The decision means the Barea will play their home matches on neutral ground, with Morocco selected to host their encounter against Nigeria.

Madagascar have been drawn in the same qualifying group as Nigeria, Tanzania and Guinea-Bissau.

The Super Eagles will therefore travel to Morocco for what will officially be Madagascar’s home fixture in the AFCON 2027 qualifying series.

CAF’s strict stadium approval requirements have continued to force several African countries to relocate their home matches when their facilities fail to meet the required standards for international competitions.
