The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has finalised arrangements for a three-day FIFA capacity-building programme aimed at enhancing the skills and knowledge of women football administrators across the country.
The programme, organised at the instance of world football governing body FIFA, will take place in Abuja from July 17 to 19 and is expected to strengthen the capacity of women involved in football administration in Nigeria.
Six facilitators will lead the training sessions, comprising two experts appointed by FIFA and four resource persons selected by the NFF.
The FIFA-appointed facilitators are women’s football technical experts Thubaelihle Sibanda and Setlhoko Tsholofelo Candy.
The Nigerian facilitators include Aisha Falode, a member of the NFF Executive Committee, FIFA Media Committee member and FIFA/CAF Match Commissioner; Mariam Suleiman of Ahmadu Bello University; Anthonia Chinyere Uwa, a retired Chief Lecturer at Nwafor Orizu College of Education; and Mohammed Ameenu, a FIFA-trained technical instructor, FIFA-certified safeguarding officer and Special Assistant to the NFF General Secretary.
The programme will be coordinated by Ruth David, the NFF’s Director of Competitions and a FIFA/CAF Match Commissioner.
The initiative underscores FIFA’s commitment to developing women’s football by equipping administrators with the knowledge and leadership skills required to strengthen the growth and governance of the game in Nigeria.
