The Lagos State Audit Service Commission has conducted a verification exercise for all auditors in the State Public Service as part of efforts to strengthen the integrity of personnel records and improve administrative efficiency.
The exercise was coordinated by the Career Management Department (CMD) of the Commission and focused on ensuring accurate and up-to-date documentation of officers within the public service.
Speaking on the initiative, the Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Audit Service Commission, Mrs. Oluwakemi Garbadeen-Adedeji, said the exercise was designed to confirm the authenticity of officers’ academic and professional qualifications.
She explained that the verification process would also help ensure proper documentation and management of personnel records across the State Public Service.
According to her, officers who participated in the exercise were required to present original copies of their academic credentials and service documents for verification, confirmation, and documentation purposes.
Mrs. Garbadeen-Adedeji further disclosed that all verified certificates would be digitised and uploaded onto a secure cloud-based platform to ensure sustainable documentation, seamless accessibility, and easy retrieval of records when needed.
She noted that the initiative aligns with the Lagos State Government’s commitment to institutional reforms, improved records management, transparency, accountability, and the adoption of technology-driven solutions for efficient service delivery in the public service.
The Permanent Secretary added that the exercise would further strengthen credibility within the system and support the state government’s vision of building a more efficient, responsive, and technology-driven public service.
