The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Lagos Sector Command, has confirmed that four persons sustained injuries following a serious multiple road traffic crash along the Ikorodu–Shagamu Road near Sabo, Ikorodu.
The incident, which occurred on April 30, 2026, at about 5:45 p.m., was reportedly caused by brake failure involving a commercial truck.
According to the FRSC, the crash involved five vehicles after the truck, suspected to have lost braking control, rammed into other road users.
A total of 29 persons were involved in the accident, comprising 17 males and 12 females.
Out of this number, four persons sustained varying degrees of injuries, while 25 others escaped unhurt.
No fatalities were recorded in the crash, the FRSC confirmed.
Rescue operatives from the RS2.17 Ikorodu Unit Command, led by CRC T.E. Oloro, responded promptly to the distress call and arrived at the scene within three minutes.
The injured victims were taken to General Hospital, Ikorodu, for treatment, while the damaged vehicles were cleared from the road with the support of the police to restore normal traffic flow.
