The Lagos State Government has officially announced the commencement of the Accelerated Digital Literacy Training and Certification Programme for public servants.
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Establishment and Training, Dr. (Mrs.) Olubusola Ajibola Abidakun, disclosed this at the opening ceremony held at the Public Service Staff Development Centre (PSSDC), where the first batch of participants began training.
Speaking at the event, Abidakun described the initiative as a strategic programme organised in collaboration with Messrs Potenergy Limited, aimed at equipping 1,000 public servants across all cadres and Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) with essential 21st-century digital skills.
She noted that the programme is a direct response to the Ministry’s mandate on capacity development, with a strong focus on IC3 Certification and META Associate Level Certification to ensure a globally competitive workforce.
Abidakun added that the training will be held at the PSSDC, Magodo, in four intensive batches scheduled from Monday, April 27 to Thursday, May 21, 2026.
Also speaking, the Director of Training, Mrs. Modupe Animashaun, highlighted the careful planning behind the four-batch structure, noting that each group will undergo four days of rigorous, hands-on instruction.
She explained that the curriculum has been tailored to address existing digital gaps within the public service, moving beyond basic computer knowledge to advanced competencies that support a technology-driven administrative system, describing the META Associate Level Certification as a landmark addition to the state’s training portfolio.
In his remarks, the Head of Learning and Development at Potenergy Limited, Mr. Udebuana Oscar, said the partnership marks a significant step in bridging the digital divide, assuring that participants will receive a world-class learning experience combining theoretical knowledge with practical IC3 standards.
