The Lagos State Parking Authority (LASPA) has issued a final warning to defaulting parking operators across the state to settle their 2025 parking levies, cautioning that enforcement actions will soon commence.
The General Manager of LASPA, Adebisi Adelabu, gave the warning during an interaction with journalists while addressing the activities of the authority.
Adelabu explained that demand notices for the 2025 parking levy were issued earlier in the year to all parking operators registered with LASPA, with payments expected within seven days of receiving the notice.
However, she noted that several organisations have yet to comply with the directive despite the ample notice given by the authority.
She stressed that the parking levy is not discretionary but a statutory obligation established under the Lagos State Transport Sector Reform Law (LSTSRL) 2018, adding that all defaulters would face appropriate sanctions.
According to Adelabu, funds generated from the levy are essential for sustaining effective parking management, maintaining structured parking systems, and improving urban mobility across the state.
She further warned that LASPA would soon commence statewide monitoring and enforcement operations to ensure compliance with the 2025 parking levy.
Adelabu therefore advised organisations operating parking facilities within their premises or using building setbacks for parking to regularise their status and pay the levy immediately to avoid enforcement measures and penalties.
