The Chairman of Alimosho Local Government, Akinpelu Johnson, has intensified the All Progressives Congress (APC) e-registration and revalidation exercise by taking the campaign directly to the leadership of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) and Community Development Committees (CDCs) across the council area.
Since the launch of the exercise, Johnson has adopted a door-to-door engagement strategy, interfacing with key stakeholders, market leaders, transport unions, and grassroots communities to ensure wide participation and inclusiveness in the party’s membership drive.
During visits to NURTW leaders and community representatives, the council chairman stressed the importance of the exercise, describing it as a crucial step toward strengthening the APC at the grassroots and deepening internal democracy within the party.
He explained that the e-registration and revalidation process would help the party build a credible and up-to-date membership database, while also creating opportunities for new members who share the APC’s progressive ideals and people-centred agenda to formally join the party.
Johnson also urged NURTW members and community leaders to serve as mobilisers within their respective constituencies, emphasising that participation in the exercise must remain voluntary.
According to him, no individual should be coerced or victimised for choosing not to participate, noting that persuasion through dialogue and reassurance remains the party’s approach, as the APC continues to position itself as the party of choice for the masses.
