Former Governor Ladoja Crowned 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland

Former Oyo State governor, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, has been crowned the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland.
The traditional coronation was performed at the Ose Meji Temple in Ibadan South-East Local Government Area on Friday, shortly after he received the symbolic Akoko leaf at the Labosinde Compound, Oja’ba.
Governor Seyi Makinde is expected to formally present the new monarch with the staff and instruments of office during a grand ceremony at Mapo Hall.
The President is also expected to attend the occasion, as presidential delegates have already arrived at the Ibadan Airport.
Oba Ladoja’s ascension follows the passing of his predecessor, the 43rd Olubadan, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, who died on July 7, 2025.
