Ondo Govt Reaffirms Commitment To Clean Water Access

Ondo State Commissioner for Water Resources, Public Sanitation and Hygiene, Hon. Ayodele Akande, has reiterated the ministry’s unwavering commitment to providing clean and safe water to residents of the state.

Akande stated this during a courtesy visit by members of the State House of Assembly Committee on Water to the ministry.

In his remarks, the commissioner thanked the committee members for their visit and assured them of his readiness to work closely with the legislature to achieve the administration’s “OUR EASE” agenda, which prioritises access to clean water. He pledged greater synergy with the committee for the success of the government’s programmes.

Chairman of the House Committee on Water, Hon. Sulaiman Muritala, commended Akande’s leadership and expressed confidence in his ability to reposition the water sector. He praised the ministry’s progress so far and called for increased collaboration to boost productivity.

Other committee members, Hon. Kolawole Ologede and Hon. Tope Agbulu, echoed similar sentiments, emphasising the need to extend borehole drilling projects to all communities across the state.

Earlier in her welcome address, the ministry’s Administrative Secretary, Mrs. Victoria Opeyemi Adetoye, highlighted the ministry’s achievements and ongoing water projects under Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa’s administration. She noted that significant strides had been made in delivering potable water to residents.

The General Manager of the Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency, Engr. Rotimi Oladimeji, rounded off the session by reaffirming the ministry’s dedication to strengthening its partnership with the legislature.
