I’m Inspired By What GTCO Fashion Weekend Doing- British Fashion Icon Lulu Kennedy

 

A British fashion Icon and founder of Fashion East, Lulu Kennedy, has expressed her admiration for the GTCO Fashion weekend purpose, saying that the turnout was massive and impressive.

Kennedy who kickstarted the masterclass with inspiring comments at the event, lauded the designers and fashion entrepreneurs present at the 2024 GTCO Fashion Weekend.

She lauded GTCO for supporting local fashion entrepreneurs, saying “It’s my first time in Nigeria; I’ve been here less than 48 hours. I haven’t had time to explore yet, but once my master classes are done, I look forward to seeing what the designers here are creating.”

“Partnerships with Nigerian entrepreneurs are new for us, and there’s a lot to navigate logistically. But I’m inspired by what GTCO Fashion Weekend is doing, and the turnout is impressive.”

Kennedy is known for discovering and nurturing talent in the British fashion industry.

 

She has launched the careers of over 200 designers, including Kim Jones, Simone Rocha, and JW Anderson.

She is also the creator of Lulu & Co, a clothing line, and serves as editor-at-large for LOVE magazine, where her work extends to consulting with major global brands.

Meanwhile, many fashion entrepreneurs and enthusiasts used the opportunities provided by the platform to showcase their businesses and brands. They showered praises on the organisers of the event.

Lola, one of the vendors and Creative Director of Lola Badge, described GTCO Fashion Weekend as a valuable opportunity.

She stated “Our booth offers affordable fashion pieces, and we have discounts available. I’ll definitely apply to participate again next year.”

A regular vendor at the event, Uche Joseph, stated that there was improvement in the organising of this year’s fashion weekend compared to last year.

Also, a first-time attendee, Eyitemi expressed admiration for the diversity of brands present and encouraged aspiring designers to take advantage of events like this to pursue their dreams.

A beauty specialist from Yanga Beauty, Helen invited customers to explore their discounted makeup products and rated the event as impressive.

Helen said “Don’t miss the next edition; there’s a variety of products to enjoy here,”

She also praised GTBank’s role in supporting small businesses, and creating a vibrant marketplace.
