Oyegun To Chair APC Presidential Screening Committee
The long-awaited All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential screening exercise is set to commence at the popular Transcorp Hilton Hotel in Abuja with different groups of supporters of the aspirants waiting in different wings of the hotel.
There has been speculation in the public domain over the hidden nature of the exercise as the party is yet to make an announcement concerning the venue of the process but information has it that Transcorp Hilton Hotel is most strategic so as to shield the whole process from the prying eyes of the media as who would fly the party’s ticket is yet be known.
Screening of Presidential aspirants is a rigorous process because it will involve painstaking scrutiny of both past and present records of these aspirants that will not injure the national security of the nation and all issues that might hinder the chances of the party from making the needed impacts during the election proper.
Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Professor Yemi Osinbanjo, Rotimi Amaechi, among others are expected to be screened for the special convention for presidential primaries slated for 6-7 of June, 2022.
