Man City Strike Late To Deny Bournemouth

Manchester City scored two late goals to secure victory in Enzo Maresca’s first Premier League game in charge and deny Marco Rose a perfect start as Bournemouth manager.
The Cherries took the lead in the first half through Marcus Tavernier, who was left unmarked before firing home after Evanilson delivered an incisive low ball across the area.
Erling Haaland, usually prolific in August, missed several chances as City appeared set for a frustrating afternoon.
However, Marc Guehi, playing in defensive midfield for only the third time in his career, equalised with six minutes remaining when he headed in Rayan Cherki’s corner.
City then completed the comeback in injury time when Josko Gvardiol guided a shot into the bottom corner.
The goal was initially ruled out for offside but was awarded following a VAR review.
The defeat ended Bournemouth’s club-record 18-match unbeaten run, with the Cherries suffering their first loss in any competition since January.
