Cameroon Make History With WAFCON Triumph, Thrash Malawi 3-0

Cameroon have been crowned Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) champions for the first time after defeating Malawi 3–0 in the 2026 final in Rabat, Morocco.

Marie Ngah Manga scored twice, while Naomi Ndjoah Eto added the other goal as the Indomitable Lionesses delivered a dominant first-half performance to secure a historic victory.

The triumph ends Cameroon’s long wait for the continental title after three previous WAFCON final defeats, all against Nigeria in 2004, 2014 and 2016.

Cameroon are now only the fourth nation to win the women’s continental title, joining Nigeria, Equatorial Guinea and South Africa.
