Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has promised to transform the state from a civil service state into an industrial state.
Speaking with journalists after his re-election, Adeleke said his vision was to ensure that development reached all parts of the state.
“My vision is to ensure that we move Osun State from a civil service state to an industrial state and make sure that development gets across all parts of Osun State,” he said.
Adeleke attributed his re-election to the support of the people, saying the victory reflected their appreciation of his administration’s achievements and the dividends of democracy delivered during his first term.
“First of all, I thank God Almighty for what has happened today. It is a victory for democracy in Nigeria and a victory for the people of Osun State, who stood by me because of what we have achieved in office and the dividends of democracy we have delivered in terms of infrastructure, education, agriculture and other areas.
“This re-election is the people of Osun State saying, ‘Thank you, Mr Governor,’ for the work we have done,” he said.
The governor also thanked President Bola Tinubu for calling to congratulate him on his victory.
“I want to seize this opportunity to thank Mr President. Mr President has called me and congratulated me. Thank you, Mr President, for ensuring that democracy lives on, because you fought for it,” Adeleke said.
