NSC, Enugu Intensify Preparations for 2026 National Sports Festival

 

The National Sports Commission (NSC) and the Enugu State Government have stepped up preparations for the 23rd National Sports Festival, tagged Coal City Games, Enugu 2026, as the Main Organising Committee (MOC) prepares to inspect key sports facilities and infrastructure in the state.

The MOC delegation will arrive in Enugu on August 25, 2026, ahead of inspections scheduled for August 26 and 27.

The programme will end with the unveiling of the official logo and mascot by the Local Organising Committee (LOC) on August 28, 2026.

The inspection will assess venues, accommodation, transport, logistics, and other essential facilities, while also reviewing overall readiness and addressing gaps to ensure timely delivery.

NSC Director-General and MOC Chairman, Bukola Olopade, will lead the delegation.

The NSC said the exercise reflects ongoing collaboration with Enugu State to ensure a successful, standards-compliant hosting of the National Sports Festival and to further strengthen Nigeria’s sporting legacy.
