The Ogun State Executive Council has approved new infrastructure projects, including legislative quarters, 450 housing units, reconstruction of the Governor’s Lodge in Abuja, major road works, and chieftaincy upgrades.
The approvals, announced by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Information and Strategy, Hon. Kayode Akinmade, align with Governor Dapo Abiodun’s urban renewal and development agenda.
Projects include 450 two-bedroom bungalows, 28 Assembly members’ quarters, 28 duplexes at Ibara GRA Scheme II, and the rebuilding of the Governor’s Lodge in Asokoro, Abuja.
Road works span all three senatorial districts, including the Okun-Owa–Ijebu-Ode Road, Ago-Iwoye–Ijebu-Igbo–Abraham Adesanya Polytechnic Road, Odeda–Olugbo Road, Ayobo–Lafenwa Junction Road in Ota, and Agbala Road in Iperu.
The Council also approved recognition of new chieftaincies and the creation and upgrade of coronet stools across Ijebu, Egba, and Yewa Traditional Councils.
Akinmade said the projects will improve governance facilities, expand housing access, boost connectivity, and support economic growth, while also preserving cultural heritage and strengthening traditional institutions.
