Morocco Crush Canada 3-0, Storm World Cup Quarter Finals

Morocco’s Atlas Lions on Saturday eliminated co-host Canada from the FIFA 2026 World Cup with a convincing 3-0 victory to book a place in the quarter-finals.

Morocco, one of only two African teams remaining in the tournament, scored all three goals in the second half of the first Round of 16 fixture.

After a goalless first half, the Atlas Lions took control of the match. Azzedine Ounahi netted a brace, while Soufiane Rahimi added a stoppage-time goal to silence the home crowd.

Ounahi opened the scoring in the 50th minute before doubling Morocco’s lead in the 82nd minute.

Rahimi put the result beyond doubt with Morocco’s third goal in the 98th minute.

The victory sends the Moroccans into the World Cup quarter-finals for the second consecutive tournament, having also reached that stage in Qatar four years ago before making history by advancing to the semi-finals—the first and only African nation to achieve that feat.
