Belgium Break Senegal Hearts With Late Winner

Belgium staged a stunning comeback to knock Senegal out of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Like Ivory Coast and DR Congo before them, the Teranga Lions failed to protect a two-goal lead, conceding a late winner to exit the tournament.

Senegal were in control after first-half and early second-half goals from Habib Diarra and Ismaila Sarr.

But Belgium hit back through Romelu Lukaku and Youri Tielemans before Tielemans struck again in stoppage time to seal a dramatic 3-2 win.

Morocco remain the only African side in the quarter-finals after beating the Netherlands on penalties.

Egypt, Cape Verde and Ghana are still hoping to join them in the last eight.
