England Edge Croatia In Dramatic World Cup Showdown

Harry Kane scored twice as England secured a thrilling 4-2 victory over Croatia in their Group L clash at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, drawing level with Gary Lineker as the Three Lions’ all-time leading scorer at the tournament.

The former Tottenham Hotspur striker opened the scoring from the penalty spot after being given a second opportunity following encroachment by the Croatian goalkeeper. However, Croatia responded through Martin Baturina, who fired home from the edge of the area to level the contest.

Kane restored England’s advantage in the 42nd minute with a powerful header, but Croatia struck back once again just before halftime when Petar Musa calmly slotted home to make it 2-2.

England emerged from the break with renewed intensity, and Jude Bellingham needed only 85 seconds of the second half to put the Three Lions ahead for a third time.

Thomas Tuchel’s side maintained control thereafter and sealed the victory late on when Marcus Rashford found the net, completing an entertaining 4-2 win in Dallas.
