Soname Celebrates NNL Growth, Hosts Top Four Promotion Teams

President of Remo Stars and Beyond Limits Football Clubs, Kunle Soname, has expressed delight at hosting this year’s Nigeria National League (NNL) Super Four, which kicked off on Monday at his facility in Ikenne, Ogun State.

The 2025/2026 NNL Super Four features four teams that have already secured promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL): Doma FC, Ranchers Bees, and Lagos-based sides Inter Lagos and Sporting Lagos.

The teams are competing in a round-robin format over the course of the week-long tournament to determine the overall winner of the league.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Soname welcomed participants to Ikenne and described hosting the championship as his contribution to the development of Nigerian football.

“I want to sincerely welcome everyone to Ikenne for this year’s Super Four, which I hope will be keenly contested. I assure all participants of the best hospitality our facility has to offer,” he said.

“My decision to host the tournament is my own little way of contributing to the development of football in the country. I wish all the teams a successful outing,” he added.

Soname also described the NNL as the most organised league in the country, noting that its transparency has led to the promotion of four privately owned clubs to the top flight, commending the organisers and urging teams to maintain discipline and sportsmanship.

In Monday’s opening matches, Sporting Lagos edged Ranchers Bees 1-0, while Doma FC defeated Inter Lagos by the same scoreline. The tournament will resume on Wednesday after a rest day on Tuesday and is scheduled to conclude on Friday, May 8.
