The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has named Morocco as the host nation for the upcoming U-17 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers ahead of the 2026 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Qatar.
The decision forms part of CAF’s ongoing efforts to ensure a seamless and highly competitive qualification process for African teams seeking places at the global tournament.
Morocco, which has hosted several major continental competitions in recent years, is widely regarded as a dependable venue and is expected to deliver top-class facilities and organization for the qualifiers.
Meanwhile, Nigeria’s national under-17 team, the Golden Eaglets, remain the most successful side in the history of the competition, having won the title a record five times.
The qualifiers will bring together teams from across the continent to compete for spots at the U-17 AFCON tournament, which will ultimately determine Africa’s representatives at the 2026 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Qatar.
