Taiwo Mati Eyes Strong Debut, Declares Readiness For World Championships

Nigerian table tennis sensation, Taiwo Mati, has sai he is physically and mentally ready for the upcoming World Table Tennis Championships in London.
Nigeria, currently ranked second in Africa and 26th in the world in the team event, will head to London determined to improve on their disappointing performance at the 2024 edition in South Korea.
With the global tournament just weeks away, the 20-year-old is confident of making a strong impression on his debut, despite acknowledging the challenge of a tough group.
“I’m positive and looking forward to participating in the tournament and giving my best for the team,” Mati told Flashscore.
“This will be a team event, unlike the regular singles World Championship, and it will be my first time competing at the World Team Championships.
“So far, preparations have been going well. I’ve been playing a lot of matches and doing intensive physical training. I’ve also been working with my psychologist, and I believe that will help me a lot.
“I’m well prepared, and mentally, I’m in a very good place.”
