NiDCOM Issues Emergency Hotlines for Nigerians in Middle East Amid Iran-Related Tensions

The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) has released emergency hotline numbers for Nigerians living in or travelling through parts of the Middle East as tensions continue to rise over the Iran-related conflict in the region.

In a public notice shared on its official X handle, NiDCOM urged Nigerians in affected countries to save the hotline numbers and immediately contact the nearest Nigerian mission in cases of distress or emergency.

According to the statement, the commission said the lines are meant to provide urgent consular support as the security situation evolves.

NiDCOM also advised Nigerians abroad to remain vigilant, follow local safety instructions, and stay in close touch with Nigerian embassies and consulates for updates and assistance.

The commission stressed that Nigerians should rely on official information and take every precaution necessary while the crisis continues.

The advisory covers Nigeria’s diplomatic missions in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Kuwait, Tel Aviv, Doha, Beirut, Riyadh, Jeddah, and Amman, with each mission assigned dedicated emergency contact numbers.

The move follows mounting fears over the wider implications of the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, which has raised concerns about the safety of foreign nationals across several Gulf and Levant countries.
