Fire Razes Section of Terminal 1 At Murtala Muhammed International Airport, No Casualties Recorded

 

 

Fire has gutted part of Terminal 1 at Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos, destroying some items in the process.

The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.

The affected terminal, which is part of the airport’s older infrastructure, is currently being renovated as part of efforts to upgrade facilities and improve passenger experience.

Teams from the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service and the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) Fire Service are currently battling to bring the blaze under control.

Margaret Adeseye, Controller-General of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, confirmed that no lives were lost in the incident.
