LAISA Unveils Bold Roadmap To Become Nigeria’s Leading One-Stop Hub For Farm Inputs

The Lagos State Agricultural Input Supply Authority (LAISA) has unveiled a roadmap to reposition the agency as the nation’s leading one-stop shop for high-quality agricultural inputs, in a move aimed at strengthening food security in Lagos and beyond.

The General Manager of LAISA, Folake Oluyemi, disclosed the plan during an appearance on Lagos Farmers, a programme on Traffic Radio.

Oluyemi identified poor access to affordable, quality inputs as a major challenge facing farmers, noting that productivity often depends on the availability of reliable farming materials.

She said the agency is deploying innovative supply chain strategies to ensure seamless access to fertilisers, knapsack sprayers, outboard engines, hybrid seeds and specialised fish feeds across the state.

To better understand farmers’ needs, LAISA has intensified grassroots engagement through Farmers’ Forums across the five administrative divisions. The inaugural session in Ikorodu, she said, recorded strong participation and valuable feedback.

As part of ongoing reforms, the agency is exploring digital platforms to streamline input ordering and delivery, reduce delays and eliminate middlemen costs, particularly for smallholder farmers in remote areas.

Oluyemi credited the agency’s progress to the support of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and the leadership of the Lagos State Ministry of Agriculture and Food Systems.

The repositioning of LAISA aligns with the broader agricultural roadmap of the state government to boost self-sufficiency, empower farmers and build a more resilient food system capable of withstanding global supply chain disruptions.
