…Vows to Complete All Road Projects
Ondo State Governor, Dr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has assured members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) that the party will carefully assess all interests and consult widely among aspirants before selecting the most suitable candidates for National Assembly seats.
Aiyedatiwa gave the assurance on Tuesday while addressing residents and APC members who turned out in large numbers to welcome him during his tour of Ifedore and Idanre Local Government Areas of the state.
He also pledged the timely completion of all ongoing road projects across Ondo State, assuring residents that no project would be abandoned or left uncompleted under his administration.
The governor disclosed that work has commenced on several key road projects, including the 3-kilometre Ikota Road, the 7.5-kilometre Ijare–Akure Road, and the Akure–Idanre Road. He added that rehabilitation works are ongoing on several previously abandoned roads, noting that one of the construction companies handling the projects is based in Ifedore Local Government Area.
While highlighting the impact of increased federal funding, Governor Aiyedatiwa attributed the pace of infrastructure development to the economic reforms of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, which he said have enabled the state to undertake multiple development initiatives simultaneously.
Addressing APC members, the governor appealed for sustained unity within the party, stressing that cohesion remains critical as the party prepares for future electoral contests.
In Idanre, Governor Aiyedatiwa expressed appreciation to residents for their overwhelming support in the last election, describing the local government as pivotal to his victory and noting that the votes from the area sealed the historic win.
In his welcome address, the APC State Chairman, Engr. Ade Adetimehin, commended the governor for restoring peace to the area following a previous crisis and praised his commitment to inclusive governance and development.
