Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has joined top leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the inaugural meeting of the party’s Committee on Strategy, Conflict Resolution and Mobilisation, aimed at addressing internal disputes and emerging threats within the party.

The committee is chaired by Yobe State Governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, and includes governors AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq (Kwara), Hope Uzodimma (Imo), Hyacinth Alia (Benue), Uba Sani (Kaduna), Umar Namadi (Jigawa), Bassey Otu (Cross River), Abiodun Oyebanji (Ekiti), and Sheriff Oborevwori (Delta).

Other members include Senator Adamu Aliero; Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola; Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle; former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello; and Senior Special Assistant to the President on Political Affairs, Alhaji Ibrahim Masari. Muiz Banire (SAN) serves as the committee’s Secretary.

At the committee’s inauguration in December, Buni outlined the body’s mission, saying “The committee will adopt strategic engagements and wide consultations to deliver inclusive and lasting solutions that give both old and new members, especially aggrieved ones, a renewed sense of belonging.”

He added “We will also take proactive measures to address potential threats to party unity. Members must not allow personal interests or sentiments to override the collective good.”

Fubara’s participation signals a strengthened Rivers State influence within the APC, as the party seeks to consolidate unity and tackle emerging internal challenges ahead of upcoming political engagements.
