The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State, Cornelius Ojelabi, has called on newly elected party executives to remain united and avoid divisive tendencies as the party prepares for the 2027 general elections.
Ojelabi gave the charge on Friday during the swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected state executives held at the party secretariat in Ikeja.
He urged the executives to demonstrate diligence, loyalty and commitment to the ideals of the party while carrying out their responsibilities.
“We found you worthy to be elected to pilot the affairs of the party for the next four years. Your role is critical to the growth and consolidation of the party,” he said.
The state chairman noted that the success of the party in Lagos over the years had been largely driven by its strong grassroots network and encouraged the newly sworn-in executives to sustain the tradition.
Ojelabi also emphasised the need for unity among party members, urging leaders and stakeholders to avoid actions capable of creating divisions within the party.
He said the executives emerged through a democratic process and must work collectively to strengthen the party’s presence across wards and local government areas, while intensifying grassroots mobilisation ahead of future elections.
Meanwhile, Barr. Nike Coker administered the Oath of Allegiance and Oath of Office to the 37-member State Executive Committee, excluding the Assistant Publicity Secretary, Karamo Yesiro, who passed away hours after his re-election.
