Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State have unveiled plans to mobilise unprecedented support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The announcement was made during the continuation of the 14-Federal Constituency Tour, organised jointly by the Renewed Hope Ambassadors and the Oyo State chapter of the APC.
The Monday tour covered the Ibadan North-East/South-East and Ibadan North-West/South-West Federal Constituencies. It was attended by prominent party figures including former First Lady Florence Ajimobi, Senator Teslim Kolawole Folarin, Minister of Power Chief Adebayo Adelabu, several senators, as well as party executives and grassroots stakeholders.
Senator Folarin said the initiative is aimed at strengthening internal cohesion, rebuilding confidence within party structures, and laying a disciplined foundation for voter mobilisation. “Ibadan is the political nerve centre of the South-West. Oyo State recorded the highest differential votes for President Tinubu in 2023, and we aim to raise the bar further in 2027,” he stated.
He stressed the importance of communicating the Tinubu administration’s reform agenda to grassroots voters. “The reforms are crucial for stabilising the economy and ensuring long-term national growth. Engaging directly with the people will help sustain their understanding and support,” Folarin added.
Former First Lady Ajimobi urged party leaders and supporters to maintain unity and discipline, noting that a cohesive party structure is key to sustaining APC’s influence in the state. She emphasised that reconnecting with grassroots supporters during the tour is critical to consolidating backing for President Tinubu.
Senators Abdulfatai Buhari, Sharafadeen Alli, and Yunus Akintunde described the tour as timely, highlighting that it has helped restore confidence among party members. They encouraged active participation in voter registration and continuous voter registration (CVR) to ensure broad-based electoral support.
Chief Adelabu commended the APC’s engagement strategy, stressing that electoral success depends on sustained grassroots activities rather than last-minute campaigns. He called for early reconciliation and coordinated mobilisation to strengthen party structures at the local level.
Also speaking, the Oyo State APC Chairman, Pharm. Olayide Abass, alongside other senior party figures, urged intensified voter education and disciplined mobilisation. They reiterated that early preparation, unity, and strategic outreach at ward and polling-unit levels are vital to securing a strong showing for President Tinubu in 2027.
