The Lagos State Government has announced that all public and private schools, as well as government technical colleges in the state, will resume for the second term of the 2025/2026 academic session on Monday, January 12, 2026.
The announcement is in line with the approved Lagos State School Calendar, with schools expected to commence academic and administrative activities immediately upon resumption.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Mr Jamiu Alli-Balogun, urged all educational institutions to strictly adhere to approved public health and safety guidelines during the reopening of schools.
He disclosed that government officials have been assigned to inspect schools across the state to ensure full compliance with safety protocols and established standards.
The ministry expressed appreciation to teachers, parents and guardians for their continued support and cooperation, while urging them to ensure that pupils and students are adequately prepared for the new term.
