Aiyedatiwa Lists Achievements, Charges MDAs To Hit The Ground Running In 2026
Ondo State Governor, Dr Lucky Aiyedatiwa, on Monday urged public servants and political office holders to prioritise the collective interest of the state and work diligently toward rapid development in line with the “OUR EASE” agenda.
The governor spoke at the First Working Day Prayer Meeting for 2026 held at the Governor’s Office Car Park in Akure, where he charged ministries, departments and agencies to begin the year with urgency, stressing that the 2026 Budget would be implemented faithfully with strict adherence to accountability and transparency.
Aiyedatiwa called on residents to support government efforts by fulfilling their civic obligations and embracing the new year with optimism, patriotism and shared responsibility for the state’s progress.
Highlighting achievements under the “OUR EASE” agenda, the governor said the administration delivered 190 kilometres of road construction and rehabilitation, built and renovated 280 classrooms, fenced several schools, and made further provisions for educational infrastructure in the 2026 Budget.
On healthcare and infrastructure, he disclosed that 112 health centres approved in 2025 were nearing completion, while the solar street lighting initiative introduced in Akure was being expanded to all local government areas.
The governor said economic development efforts included the revalidation of the Ondo Deep Sea Port licence, plans for a refinery and petrochemical industries in the Free Trade Zone, revival of moribund industries such as the Ifon Ceramic Industry and Okitipupa Oil Mill, and new projects along the Ore axis.
He also reported improved security through enhanced collaboration among security agencies, approving the recruitment of 500 additional Amotekun Corps personnel and increased investment in logistics, while reaffirming his administration’s commitment to prompt salary payments, regular promotions and settlement of gratuities.
In their remarks, the Head of Service, Mr Bayo Philip, and the Catholic Bishop of Ondo Diocese, Most Rev Dr Jude Ayodeji Arogundade, commended the administration’s labour-friendly policies and urged public servants to uphold discipline, integrity and service to the common good, while labour leaders pledged continued support for the governor.
