Tinubu Honours Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi With University Renaming

 

President Bola Tinubu has approved the renaming of the Federal University of Health Sciences, Azare (FUHSA), Bauchi State, in honour of the late Islamic scholar, Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi.

The announcement was made on Saturday during the President’s condolence visit to the family of the revered cleric held at the Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi Islamic Centre in Bauchi state.

Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi, a prominent religious leader and widely respected Islamic scholar, died on November 27 after a prolonged illness at the age of 98.

President Tinubu had arrived at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa International Airport, Bauchi, at about 4:50 p.m., where he was received by the Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, alongside the Governor of Plateau State, Caleb Mutfwang, ministers, and other senior government officials.

Among those present to welcome the President were the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, and the Minister of Health, Professor Muhammad Ali Pate.

Members of the presidential entourage included the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajuddeen Abbas, and the Governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni, among other dignitaries.
