Igando-Ikotun LCDA Chairman Presents ₦7.91bn ‘Budget of Impactful Governance’ For 2026
The Chairman of Igando-Ikotun Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Mr. Lasisi Akinsanya, has presented a proposed ₦7.91 billion budget for the 2026 fiscal year to the Legislative Council.
The budget presentation took place at the council’s legislative chamber under heightened security and was witnessed by members of the executive council, legislative councillors, traditional rulers, community stakeholders, and council officials. The session was presided over by the Leader of the House, Hon. Tajudeen Ayodele Olorunfemi.
Presenting the budget, tagged “Budget of Impactful Governance,” Akinsanya said the 2026 appropriation proposal is designed to deliver practical and measurable development that will directly improve the living standards of residents across the LCDA.
He explained that the proposed ₦7,911,163,431.78 budget is anchored on key priority areas, including infrastructure development, healthcare and social welfare, education and human capital development, as well as security and environmental sustainability.
According to the chairman, the budget will focus on road rehabilitation, upgrading of community markets, expansion of street lighting, renovation of primary healthcare centres, provision of learning materials, youth and women empowerment programmes, strengthened community policing, and improved waste management.
Akinsanya reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and fiscal discipline, assuring residents that ongoing projects would be completed. He added that the budget provides a clear pathway to sustainable development and an improved quality of life for people in the LCDA.
In his remarks, the Leader of the House, Hon. Olorunfemi, assured that the Legislative Council would thoroughly scrutinise the proposal, safeguard the interests of residents, and ensure the timely consideration and passage of the 2026 budget.
