Nigeria on Sunday hosted the 68th Ordinary Session of the Authority of Heads of State and Government of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) at the State House Conference Centre, Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Vice President Kashim Shettima arrived at the venue to represent President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the high-level summit and formally welcome West African leaders in attendance.
The session is being attended by the President of the ECOWAS Commission, Dr. Omar Alieu Touray, and the Chairman of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government and President of Sierra Leone, Julius Maada Bio, alongside other regional leaders.
The meeting brings together heads of state and government from across the sub-region to deliberate on critical political, economic and security challenges facing West Africa, as ECOWAS continues its efforts to deepen regional integration, promote peace and strengthen stability across member states.
