Edo, Chinese Community Partner to Boost Primary Healthcare With Major Medical Donations
The Edo State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to improving healthcare delivery by partnering with the Chinese community in the state to donate essential medical supplies to the Edo State Primary Healthcare Development Agency (EDSPHCDA) through the Office of the First Lady.
Speaking during the presentation ceremony at the Government House, the Coordinator of the Edo State First Lady’s Office, Mrs. Edesili Anani, said the medical supplies and consumables were donated to support the EDSPHCDA’s service delivery across the state.
Receiving the items on behalf of the agency, the Executive Secretary of the EDSPHCDA, Dr. Coulson Oahimire Osoikhia—represented by the Director of Disease Control and Immunization, Dr. Efeomon Eseigbe—expressed appreciation to Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, for fostering strong partnerships that continue to benefit residents of the state.
He also commended Mrs. Anani for her unwavering support for primary healthcare activities. Dr. Osoikhia further expressed gratitude to the Chinese community for their generosity, assuring that the donated supplies would be used judiciously to strengthen healthcare service delivery.
The donated items include syringes, plasters, cotton wool, medication, intravenous infusions, hand sanitizers, disinfectants, and other essential medical consumables. They are expected to be distributed to primary healthcare centres across Edo State to enhance the quality of care.
