UniAbuja Governing Council Appoints Sambo As Acting Registrar

The Governing Council of the University of Abuja led by Senator ( Dr ) Olanrewaju Tejuoso, has approved the appointment of Malam Sambo Mohammed as Acting Registrar of the institution.
According to the statement on the institution’s facebook page, the appointment was made during the 80th Extraordinary Meeting of Council held on Friday 7 November 2025. It takes effect from Tuesday 11 November 2025, and will last for three months.
Sambo will succeed Mrs Roseline Adakayi, who had earlier been appointed in May 2025 for a period of six months.
Until his appointment, Sambo has served in various strategic positions in the University, including most recently as deputy registrar, Council Division.
In line with the University’s governance structure, the newly appointed acting registrar shall be responsible to the vice-chancellor and shall serve as secretary to the University Governing Council.
Congratulating Sambo, the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor Mathew Adamu, described the appointment as a welcome development that would help consolidate administrative efficiency.
Adamu charged him to uphold professionalism, integrity, and teamwork “as we continue to work together to lift the University higher.”
The acting vice-chancellor also commended Mrs Roseline Adakayi for her “good work” during her service as acting registrar, noting that her contributions helped to stabilise the system.
