PHOTOS: Turaki Submits PDP Chairmanship Forms Ahead of 2025 Ibadan Convention

The former Minister of Special Duties and People Democratic Party (PDP) National Chairmanship aspirant, Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, SAN, has submitted his Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms, ahead of the November 15, 2025 Elective National Convention of the party in Ibadan, Oyo State.
Turaki who was escorted by some of his supporters, submitted the forms at the National Convention Organizing Committee (NCOC)’s Secretariat in Legacy House, Shehu Shagari Way, Maitama, Abuja.
He was last week Wednesday endorsed by the PDP Northern Stakeholders as a consensus candidate after a meeting held in Abuja.

The leaders who addressed the media declared Turaki as their consensus candidate.
Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri, who led the stakeholders to address the media, noted that any aspirant unsatisfied with the decision is free to contest.
The endorsement follows a gathering of Northern PDP leaders, where the chairmanship slot was zoned to the North-West geopolitical zone to promote regional balance and party cohesion.

It would be recalled that former Kaduna State Governor, Ahmed Makarfi, ex-Jigawa State Governor Sule Lamido, and Turaki were locked in a keen contest for the chairmanship position.
Although Turaki’s endorsement had sparked a fresh crisis in the party as both the camps of the Minister of FCT, Nyesom Wike and the former governor of Jigawa State, Sule Lamido rejected the endorsement.
