Edo Information Ministry, Digital Agency Forge Alliance to Boost Service Delivery, Publicise Innovations
The Edo State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Prince Kassim Afegbua, has expressed the Ministry’s readiness to publicise all aspects of the Edo State Government activities aimed at actualising the SHINE Agenda of the Sen. Monday Okpebholo-led administration of repositioning the State.
Prince Afegua gave the assurance during an engagement with the Management Team of the Edo State Digital Governance and Data Management Agency (EdoDiDa), who were in his office in Benin City to seek collaboration and possible partnership with the Ministry.
The Commissioner pledged the Ministry’s commitment to strengthening collaborations among Government ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs) for effective service delivery.
He emphasized that such synergy would project the State Government in a positive light while driving socio-economic growth and development, assuring the Guest of the Ministry’s support towards creating awareness aimed at realizing the Agency’s mandate.
Similarly, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mrs. Rose Imonike, appreciated the Team for the visit and commended EdoDida for its innovative initiatives.
The Acting Managing Director of EdoDiDa Mr. Patrick Ikpato, appreciated the Ministry for the warm reception and solicited for collaboration in advancing the Agency’s ongoing platforms and projects, which included the Edo Business Connect; a platform linking medium, small and micro enterprises (MSMEs) for seamless business interactions and ‘OneEdo’, an integrated web-based portal connecting all Edo State MDAs to provide easy access to Government information and services.
Ikpato disclosed that both platforms have been developed and hosted on the Edo State Government’s official server, awaiting final approval for full launch.
He stressed that collaboration with the Ministry of Information and Strategy would help publicize the innovations, which will enhance citizen’s engagement with Government programmes.
