The National Publicity Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, has explained the reason Peter Obi is yet to become ADC card-carrying member.
Abdullahi said that Obi asked for leave to allow him to complete the election that his people were involved in the Labour Party”.
Obi is the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party.
Speaking on Channels TV’s Politics Today on Wednesday, Abdullahi said Obi had been part of the coalition opposition from its inception, saying the LP former presidential candidate had attended almost every meeting of the coalition.
“The reason Peter Obi has not come into the ADC as a card-carrying member was because he asked for leave to allow him to complete the election that his people were involved in the Labour Party – the same thing applied to Mallam Nasir El-Rufai – and they were allowed by the leadership to complete the election processese that they started in their respective parties before they come into the ADC,” he said.
