The Lead Visioner of the Lagos4Lagos Movement and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Olajide Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, has formally declared his intention to contest the 2027 Lagos governorship election.
Jandor, who ran for governor in 2023 on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) before defecting back to the APC in 2025, made the declaration on Wednesday during a meeting of the Central Working Committee of the Lagos4Lagos Movement at Liberty House, Ikeja.
In a video posted on his facebook page on Thursday addressing his group, Jandor said the Lagos4Lagos Movement was originally founded within the APC with the goal of pursuing the governorship seat, stressing that self-belief and determination remained central to his political journey.
Drawing inspiration from President Bola Tinubu, Jandor said: “Tinubu went after his conviction that he would be President of Nigeria. They changed the naira because of him, they did all sorts because of him, but today he is the President of Nigeria. I, too, will continue to believe in myself. I am running for governor of Lagos in 2027. Of course, I know I cannot make myself the candidate of our party. The decision lies with the leadership and members of the APC, but we are putting ourselves forward because of the belief we have in ourselves.”
He assured that regardless of the party’s eventual choice of candidate, loyalty to the APC would remain paramount.
“Whoever the party decides to pick at the end, all of us will work together for the success of the party. Regardless of individual outcomes, our duty remains to Lagos and to the progress of our party, the APC,” he said.
Jandor further pledged to work towards building a Lagos where opportunity, innovation, and prosperity are accessible to all, emphasizing that stewardship and service to the people would guide his campaign.
He added that the time had come to commence intra-party activities and mobilization in preparation for the 2027 general elections.
The Central Working Committee of the Lagos4Lagos Movement, which attended the declaration, comprised representatives from all local government areas across Lagos State.
